Diamonds in the Sky Chain

Tubular Herringbone Stitch is so wonderful because of the variety of different beads you can use.  You can use any size of seed beads, cylinder beads, cube beads, hex beads, drop beads, bugle beads, crystals, Czech fire-polished beads, etc.  You can make thin tubes or thick tubes.  Different beads can be used in sections or mixed as in the, “Diamonds in the Sky” Necklace.  It’s fun & easy.  In class, you will learn an easy way to start your tubular herringbone stitch how to work from both sides so you can add a pendant.

Herringbone History:

The Herringbone stitch is also known as Ndebele. In recent years many beaders identified this stitch as Ndebele which originates from the Ndebele people of South Africa. The Ndebele people use the herringbone stitch extensively along with other beading stitches in their beadwork.  It is a zigzag pattern, composed of short parallel slanted rows that line up in one direction and then the other.
